Iran says the Strait of Hormuz is now “completely open” to commercial shipping, tying the move to a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon and ongoing U.S.–Iran talks. But the reopening is far from unconditional. The U.S. has kept its naval blockade of Iranian ports fully in place, continuing to turn away ships linked to Iranian trade.
