The Great Wall of China — it’s one of the most iconic landmarks in the world. But did you know... it’s not actually one continuous wall?
That’s right — the Great Wall is made up of many smaller walls built over centuries by different Chinese dynasties. Each section used different construction techniques and materials, depending on the region and the era. Some parts are made of stone, others of rammed earth or bricks. The earliest walls date back as far as the 7th century BC, while the most famous sections were built during the Ming Dynasty in the 14th to 17th centuries.
So, while we call it "The Great Wall," it’s really a vast network of fortifications — each with its own story.
