Tonight in volleyball: all three area schools will be hosting big district games on their home courts. Boerne High will play John Jay at 7, Champion will play Alamo Heights at 6:30, and Geneva will play Holy Cross at 6. Comfort will be on the road to play Ingram Moore at 6.

Boerne football will be on their bye this week, but Champion will be in Lockhart for the final game before their bye week next week. We’ll have coverage on Boerne Radio starting with Fired Up Friday at 5 and pregame at 6:30, as Champion looks to remain perfect. That’s Friday here on Boerne Radio and the FREE Boerne Radio app.

Spurs Media day was yesterday in San Antonio before training camp begins next week. Every player on the training camp roster took their portraits prior to the season. Victor Wembanyama was asked about the defeat in the Finals this past year, and said, “It’s been hard to fall asleep sometimes. But there is a point where you have to accept that you have to go through it. I couldn’t imagine a better motivation.” The new season begins the 20th of October when they face off against their Western Conference Final opponent from last year, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

And the American League Wild Card series begins today with the Astros taking on the White Sox in a best-of-3. First pitch is at 4pm… if you’re looking to watch the game, it will only air on streaming service Peacock.
