Day 2 of highlighting a Boerne ISD Athletic Hall of Honor Class of 2024 inductee here on Boerne Radio Sports. Kristen Schramek Bates, class of 2003, was a Boerne greyhound Volleyball star who earned district, regional, and state honors as well as academic awards. She earned her way to playing for the Baylor Bears, and in 2006, led in digs with 485 that season. She ranks 3rd on the single season record list for that statistic alone. She is currently the Assistant Director of Athletic Academic Advising at UIW in San Antonio.

On October 18 later this year, Bates will be one of 4 individuals or groups celebrated and inducted at the annual luncheon.

A couple of Greyhound baseball players have been named to the 2024 Express-News All-Area Team. Jackson Grimes was named the newcomer of the year, while Dylan Perez was named to the super team. 

Geneva Tennis has had themselves a year- Boys finished 2nd in district and 5th at state and the girls finished 2nd in district and won bronze at the State Championships. Esan Fikes and Ella Dillinger both earned 4th in district individually, and academic all-state awards. 

Kate Friesenhahn of Geneva soccer, volleyball, and golf, earned herself the TAPPS 4A Athlete of the Year, aside from racking up so many individual awards throughout the year. Phenomenal indeed. 

Our San Antonio Gunslingers will hit the road to play Massachusetts tonight- at stake is a chance to go 6-5 on the season, while getting their conference and win percentage up. All the action goes down tonight at 6:05.
