Have your radio dials tuned tonight here on Boerne Radio at 5 as we begin coverage for Boerne vs Alamo Heights. Fired Up Friday will start us off and then pregame at 6:30. And a quick flashback to last December - do you remember what happened between these two in the 2025 region 4 championship game?

Boerne would go 2-0 against them last year, including in the playoffs. A different Alamo Heights team is being presented to Boerne now in 2026 - they have a new head coach, DK Garza graduated, and they head into district 4-0 just like Boerne. They also are scoring 50.5 PPG in their 4 games this year. William Bishop is their RB with 6 touchdowns and 82 YPG. Boerne of course has Grant Sweeney and Callan Combs as the primary pass-rush duo, but defense will be important. The defense is holding opponents so far to 22.5 PPG, as players like Rory Hotchkin and Ronald Smith lead the way. Again, coverage begins tonight at 5, here on Boerne Radio and the free Boerne Radio app.

Boerne Champion takes on Austin Anderson tonight in their district opener. Coverage will air on Texas Sports Productions. Champion, get this, is outscoring their opponents 236-24, scoring no less than 55 points in each of the first 4 games, and has held opponents to 6 PPG. They can go 5-0 tonight with those numbers being on their side, led by Ryder Flugence… who was also reported by the Express News as the nation’s top recruit. I mean, he does have 15 offers already as only a sophomore.

Geneva will host St. John Paul II tonight at 7, Comfort is on their bye week and are preparing to face Poth next week, and Bandera Bulldog football will host Llano at 7.

Boerne High and Champion will face off tonight at Boerne High School in volleyball- in what could be one of the biggest district games for both schools as we inch closer to the playoffs.
