More Geneva baseball players have made All-District lists- On 2nd-Team, Chase Doran, Bryce Hanover, and Brady Chandler who also made Academic All-State. On the 1st-Team, Robert Jons and Gray Bruner, who also got an All-State Honorable Mention and Academic All-State recognition. Congrats to these Eagles!

The UIL Legislative Council met Wednesday in Austin to discuss and hear proposals for a few subjects from rule changes to other things regarding athletics and even academics. A superintendent survey is planned regarding two proposals in particular- adding a shot clock in basketball, and making girl’s flag football a sport. The council will take those things into consideration at their next meeting in October.  

Group Play for the 2026 FIFA World Cup started yesterday with Mexico defeating South Africa, 2-0. Canada plays Bosnia-Herzegovina today at 2, and then the US battles Paraguay at 8. Group play will run through June 27. 

And speaking of Canada, the PGA Tour’s RBC Canadian Open is underway north of the border near Toronto. Sahith Theegala from the US is tied for 1st with 5 other golfers at -6. Round 2 begins this morning.
