It’s Friday, November 22nd
And it was on this date in 1963 that America lost its innocence when the 35th President of the United States John F. Kennedy was assassinated in broad daylight in Downtown Dallas. The first person to announce the murder on the radio was the news anchor for Dallas’ KLIF Gary DeLaune on over 350 radio stations worldwide…
Okay, Boerne Radio Family…I’m reaching out to you now…As Thanksgiving is next week, there is a little girl in need this season that we mentioned in story this past summer. We reported Acaiyah Dandridge who is only 9 has something called Chiari Malformation where brain tissue extends and blocks fluid from reaching her spinal cord where Acaiyah gets shooting pain in her limbs or parts of her body go completely numb due to her Scoliosis. She can’t really run and play sports like she wants to because it’s too painful afterwards. I got to talk to Acaiyah yesterday and asked her a few questions starting with where she goes to school

And do you have a lot of friends…

And what do you do for fun?
Audio: Acaiyah 3 - play broad games
Like what?

But she deserves to do things that little girls are supposed to do…and I asked her what she wanted for her 10th birthday which is the day before Thanksgiving.
Audio Acaiyah 5 - $ for Spain
So here’s the deal - the Dandridge Family needs $50000 for the surgery in Spain that’s not offered here, but is relatively routine in Spain. They’ve raised almost $13K this past summer, but a generous and anonymous donor has a matching gift offer, if $10,000 can be raised before Thanksgiving.
I told Acaiyah and the Dandridge family that I would tell you and see if some nice Boerne Radio listeners could make a miracle happen. Tax Deductible Donations can be made to help young Acaiyah at HelpHopeLive.org…that’s HelpHopeLive.org - we have the direct link for Acaiyah Dandridge in the news blog at BoerneRadio.com and in our post on the Boerne Radio Facebook Page.
