View descriptionShare

It’s Monday February 2nd.

And it’s Groundhog Day…with the weather predicting rodent also known as a woodchuck, belonging to the group of large ground squirrels known as marmots.  The bottom line for this Groundhog Day in Boerne Texas is:  we’re starting to see some warmth peak back into our forecast - 60s all week and back in the low 70s this Friday and over the weekend, another day closer to spring.

And a Couple of quick birthday shoutouts…Happy Birthday to you Rene Villarreal a long time Boerne Radio listener and supporter, and Mr. Michael Smith over at the Ford of Boerne.

Last week, Fair Oaks Ranch hosted their annual State of the City address, and here are some of the highlights. Leaders spoke on openness and pledged to continue government transparency, as well as outlined municipal projects over the next 5 years and city financials. The 2025 financial audit came out clean, and the City was ranked the 16th safest city in Texas in a statewide assessment-a jump from 34th last year. They also had a goal of promoting safety and education this year, so even though there were almost 4,000 traffic stops, 76% received only a warning.

The Boerne Police Department is investigating reports involving multiple people who were scammed out of nearly $40,000. A business calling itself “Allways Boerne” is falsely advertising high-end luxury vehicles for sale online and is using the former Jennings Anderson dealership as its physical address on its website. After contacting the property owner, it was confirmed that the location is only an auto body and detailing shop and not a car dealership of any kind. None of the victims are from Boerne, but still be aware of the validity of online sellers before making large purchases.
