Today’s guest is Pratik Patel, the former Director of Performance Nutrition and Assistant S&C with the New York Giants in the NFL for 4 years. Prior to that, Pratik was the Director of Sports Nutrition at University of Oregon, Sports Dietician at Michigan State and interned at the Houston Texans, Kansas City Chefs and Kansas City Royals.
In this episode, Pratik shares his general thoughts and lessons from the collegiate environment and some key big rocks for athletes to focus on, some of the key takeaways from his interning experience and different organisations across different professional sports, the unique role he had at the Giants and how he connected with the players, how much a Dietician can actually change an NFL players nutritional habits, the reason he left pro sport, a super honest and candid discussion around the realities of leaving pro sport without a plan b plus a whole lot more.
