Luttsy has made landfall before Alfred has an at least he's not being a Tropical Depression. We get the latest on the cyclone bearing down on us and Nikki's 17-game run finally comes an end
See Ash Lutzzi and Nikki Osborne podcast.
Look Who's back?
The welcome back lots the cat dragged in in the house.
Someone's changed my head professionalism. You know, been to the Hong Kong to the Orient. I mean it's you know, different level over. They don't come back.
Don't blame us.
It was pat Sorry if I've come back with orion attitude.
But who's moved around?
This is the most I've ever seen you say when you walk in the morning, This is quite remarkable.
You see, you're seeing David hot every now and then Lutzi will lose his stuff. He just will lose it and you won't see it coming.
And you'll go, oh, that's exciting for me.
One of my favorite, one of my favorite ones was we'd all been away on Christmas holidays for like six weeks and we came back for a planning day. Yeah, and Latzi's walked in and they brought us Goodwin Gomez for lunch, except Lazzi's Latzi's burrito bowl had beans on it, and he doesn't like beans on his burrito bowl.
I do not.
You're like Teddy my son. He won't eat the beans.
Disgusting and it was a blow up like I've never seen. I love that he went off his nut.
I went off my nut.
I was there, and I think for the first two minutes we thought it was a bit. It was building, and then because we hadn't taken it seriously, Lutsy had to double down in his anger. In hindsight remind us, no, I was actually serious.
So are you you funny angry? He's funny angry?
Funny about it? It was pretty serious. Because I don't remember specifically that. I'm not going to deny it because that's how I would react.
You've got to remember that. Though it was in that front office room there. That was one of your all time blow ups.
I don't really remember, but I remember the telling him, you know.
It's liked those kids when they get so angry they pass out. Yeah, that was me. Last night, I went out to check on my baby bird. Actually I went for walk because I did a really bad mood. And then I saw my baby bird that I'd rescued the night before. It had been kicked out by its parents again. It was dead, coming in ants, and I did my nut in the streak. I just lost it on your knees like why God, Why.
No?
I was iballing every other minor bird going you're going down, You're going down. I was ready to grab a handful of rocks and just start. I felt really violent, violent mining bird. It was a minor bird. I probably should have saved it in the first place.
Another mind killed it, you reckon.
I think it's mother did. And I actually saw it in the tree. I'm going to punch you in the throat. I was so angry.
What's the current policy? I'm punching birds in the throat? Is that allowed or I don't know. I just take it caught.
It should be a phonus.
Throat.
Oh that poor baby.
Anyway, Ash Latzi and Nikki Osborne podcast.
Talking again before the end of the hour two hour mates Jeff from Higgins Storm Chas has had him on earlier in the week.
We'll catch up about the latest.
I'm looking forward to seeing what the latest tracking is suggesting as far as where it's going to cross, although it appears that and Jeff will be able to explain more. But the crossing is one thing, so obviously there will be one place that gets specifically hit, but that from wherever it hits the area to the South is also going to cop like a huge lashing as well winds, destructive rains.
Obviously, there's a.
High tide which hits at midnight tomorrow night that coincides with the with the cyclone crossing that could cause mass erosion.
At the time that they're expecting it to hit. I'm just looking on the monitor now, is that Are they saying four pm?
That?
Yah?
Well, that's what it would look like.
It's what Thursday? What?
Yeah, yeah, it's four pm tomorrow.
It looks like when it's going to get kickoff.
Looks like is that right off Brisbane?
That's the eye of it, Redcliff. Looks like Redcliffe is in the sharp trajectory, which means the Sunshine Coast gets off a little lighter. But yeah, for me, the concern is the big tide alongside the big swell.
Oh yeah, flooding.
Yeah, it seems like the massive day concern, isn't it flooding?
The flooding four hundred mili of rain, they're tipping up to six hundred mil in a really short space of time. We spoke to the Lord May yesterday about the dam situation and whether they're going to release the water before or they're going to wait until it actually the rain starts, but hopefully.
They've got that cover.
One hundred and fifty five kilometer hour winds likely may increase just enough to reach a category free.
Well is it up to one hundred and fifty five now? It is that one hundred and twenty yesterday?
You know, I'm just reading straight off Higgins storm Chaser here. This is what they're saying now, because we're.
Talking to Jeff from Storm Chasers soon, aren't we.
It's currently a category too, but some intensification is possible right up until landfall.
Certainly a degree of inevitability about it now, isn't there?
Like the sport thing.
I think a Rock's home that made the call in NRL and AFL. Some blow ups there by the way, interesting blow ups too. I see Nicko Reema's partners yeah, saying, you know, well don and are really taking my husband away on I think.
Is he pregnant?
I think she said she's she's pregnant and she's got an they've got another child at home, and she's saying this is just for a game of football, shew love and.
Away like yeah, no, I know Ash was saying it this morning, quoting her, and I'm like, I agree.
Yeah, Well, I guess the important thing is there's and I think this could happen as the Dolphins players specifically in that in that case, we'll have the be given the choice of not going.
I reckon there'll be some players.
It won't game.
They will stay home with their partners.
Wouldn't they just bring all their families with them.
Yeah, maybe that's the other option, I guess. Yeah, flights is flights. I think flights already started shutting down.
I have to stage.
Yeah, well, I think they already have.
I only came in last night from Hong Kong and the uber driver, so there's already flights have been canceled for out of Brisbane because you know the airport won't be this is going to happen.
Nothing to be taken off.
Yeah no, and especially if there's going to be big puddles too all over the weekend.
Really, roadshove shut their parks from today, I think from today through until Friday. What's the schools, Well, the Premier had made a comment about that they're going to stay open but sort of keep your ears.
Yeah, I got an email from my kids high school and primary school about four and five o'clock yesterday afternoon, say hey, look tomorrow, we're remaining open, but know we're going to be monitoring it. So it's a day by day situation where my kid's absolutely spewing about I.
Might actually I'm going to text. I know my kids are wishing on a Cat five because they want to be wiped out for a week so they get to stay at home and they think they're going to be on their gadgets. But I'm like, if it gets any worse, kids, there won't be any power and there won't be any WiFi.
Well, have you done any planning around that? Like?
Uh, like, if Jeremy have the power, I'm in a building, I don't know whether our general like if our power goes out there, I don't know whether our generator is in the building well, has enough power to power I don't know it works.
My mum's got a generator, and we've got a few battery packs for gadgets, like for phones and things, but and a few torches. We found some old tortues. We've got that, and then apparently you meant to have I mean, I don't think it's going to be that bad, but I can't like the.
Way we're talking.
Yeah, there's a inevitability around this being aged by the way they had.
That we had. It's fair to be really visilant, and.
They had to tell us what the worst case and our is because they've got to give us as much chance as possible to rather that were for it.
Yeah, and I don't have gas? Do you have gas cooking? We were out, Yeah, we don't. We've got to let well, we can't cook all right, we can't because we're an electric hobs. So we're like, oh gosh. So we opened one of our engagement presents from two thousand and eight nine eight, which was a little like camper cooking thing. Well that's not finally opened it.
That was like twenty the people that gave it.
Yeah, thanks Ll and Adam, we really love your present. Will come in handy for one night only.
They haven't even regifted it. That's how pathetic they thought your present was.
See Ash Ltzi and Nikki Osborne podcast.
Let's talk to Jeff Higgins from storm Chasers. We're counting down to cyclone ELF. Good morning, Jeff. What's the latest mate, Where is cyclone ELF at the moment?
And what's how's the tracking.
Morning guys, like the calm before the storm. At the moment out down here, it's looking out and there's not a ripple on our damn out here at Warwick, so it's certainly go a neary feel to it. But at the moment is about four hundred yikilometers east of the Gold Coast or Brisbane gold Coast, and he is moving towards the west quite steadily now, so he's coming in towards the coast and what at.
The moment, looking at the map, it's looking like it's going to hit around the Redcliffe area. Is that like? How locked in is that trajectory?
Now?
It's highly confident dies and this is this is a real tricky bit and that gets hard to explain to people that I can. Every time the data updates, we're looking for any change. So this updates every six hours and there's a lot of it around the club. So we're all looking for small changes in wobbles of movement as to where it's projected to cross the coast at this stage. Yes, between the Brisbane and the Gold Coast is where let's stay around eighty percent of the data suggests that that's where it's going to cross. We will get light movements in that right up unto landfall. The data and the models will do the absolute best that they can, but obviously they're not pinpoint dead.
On wherever it crosses.
Jeff, and say that the tracking is right and it does cross between Risbon and the Gold Coast, is it is it accurate to say that south of that area is going to cut the worst of it, and that absolutely explain that.
Now, yep, I will. Now we need to keep in mind we need to keep the Sunshine Coast in the warning in case the data is slightly out. Okay, so just the Sunshine Coast people please stay fully prepared and on aller in case it does hit you directly as well. So I just need to get down the road. So then from Brisbane south to the Gold Coast down to Yamber because that location at the moment currently is where it's forecast to be on the southern side or the center on the southern side, that is where the most strongest impacts are felt, because it's the highest pressure gradients of the system at the moment likely to cross between Let's say, well this is on the data spread anywhere from say three pm Thursday afternoon to eight pm Friday morning. We'll pick at midpoint it's going to cross the coast Thursday night.
Well, if you take the midpoint of that, let's call that roughly midnight, that's when the high tide is due.
Did you have to say that, Yeah, that's true. And that's a huge concern to say. Yeah, cold coast, any foreshore from Brisbane, Boughton Bay, even a Gold coast especially all that sort of stuff. There's going to be a lot of water pushed in from this system, much much higher tide than normal. So it'll some foreshore areas. And of course it's at night. It's not ideal with these things likely crossing at night because right in the most intense part of the storm and the cyclphone is dark, you can't sindthing bits and pieces flying around, you know, tappen on your house. You know he's coming down potentially, that sort of stuff.
Can you tell us the things the things we really shouldn't do when it hits, Like, what are the things you shouldn't do? Like you shouldn't run out to the street and get your car and drive, Like what do you do and what shouldn't you do?
Okay, So importantly, there's a lot of focus obviously on the center of the system where it's crossing. I did a post last night I said, please don't focus on that because the warning area is broad and it's much earlier than that. So from tomorrow Thursday, the weather will progressively get worse tomorrow.
So try and staff the roads.
Yep. I would have all preparations, all your little Nixon acts and food shopping done tomorrow today. Sorry, by the end close of business today. You need to be fully prepared. And I would avoid travel and being out and around from tomorrow, especially Thursday night Friday morning. That's the first time. So yeah, don't be out and about avoid travel.
Stay home, yes, stay home. Came on, Jeff Will. Will there be an eye of this cyclone like where you get hit, then it goes still for a while, and then the back half of it hits you.
Technically, yes, not so much as a clear defined eye like in a much bigger cyclone. But there will be a real surge on that western and southern side, so around the wrap on the as it comes in and then once it crosses it a week in a bit, but there will be a bit of a calm areas as you were to call it in sort of that middle part again, it would be too complacent. It's going to get pretty pretty wild and hectic. Now I want to mention something. We are personally receiving a huge influx of concerned messages from elderly people. This was only raised to me last night by our team at Higains storm Tasting. We're getting they are scared. I'm going to put it straight out there. So if family members and friends and loved ones of elderly people, could you please reach out to them today and just make sure that they are okay, talk to them, make sure that they've got what they need, and just tell them to stay at home for the next two or three days please, that would be great.
And maybe drag in some of their outdoor furniture and pot some plants, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, give them something to do. Yeah yeah, what's your favorite pot plants inside? Yes, but you have your shopping done today. We don't want you the elderly out tomorrow and Friday and then stay home and keep all the windows and doors sh Now there's a myth I want to bust here. A lot of people saying open your windows on the down wind side. Okay, that's a myth. It needs to be stopped and advised the game. You should have all of your windows and closed the whole time.
All right, Thanks for coverage, Jeff, You've been great mate. We'll stay in touch with you. Who knows, probably get you on tomorrow morning if we can too, and get the very latest as well.
Yeah, down good. I just want to mention the rain Friday and Saturday on Southeast host in Southeast Queensland. It's going to be pretty nasty with a lot of After the system crosses, it pulls in a lot of moisture from from the ocean. So you got your initial hits and the moisture gets pulled in, So a lot of heavy rain and flooding on Friday into Saturday. Okay, no goal fund should be starting to getting good by Sunday.
Thank you Jeff for talk tomorrow.
Thank you guys.
See Ash and Nikki Osborne podcast.
Even the surf Anoosa is going off at the moment.
I've seen some footage places.
But there's like perfect surf at the moment off the points.
I've never seen anything like it on the on the Gold Coast.
I've never seen the power of that like it looks like North Like it looks like Hawaii.
Yeah, and it's like it's like Rainbow Bay. It's coming right around those points.
It looks like past Green Mount all the way to Kire, like huge, big long rides.
It's all times perf.
One of the kids at his school got intentionally suspended this week so we could go and surf down on the Gold Coast.
I believe it.
This is what's going on.
Did you see Fanning? Mick Fanning? Yeah, so what was that? Did he bust up a border or did he just face plant?
It looks like it's hard to tell because what do you believe when what you see?
But it looks like if he was in a on a wave and fell off in a barrel and must have hit his head on the surfboard.
He had butter shark, he.
Might have but yeah, that was like but even yeah that But when they're shown that vision, it looks more like you know what I mean, Like it's not off the the point of it looks like it's they're coming right through.
It's like that's a family beach, it's Rainbay Bay.
It's only still waters still.
That's where you go take you can serve the end of the Malula River at the moment, that just a bar crossing. That's where they're getting the best swell because boats aren't going anywhere, so that's where all the surfers.
Of But looked up and it looks like I was saying to you. When was I saying to youth?
It was off their saying it's you know, I don't know who these surfers are, but these perfect ten barrel waves, like you just don't see that.
Who are these rides of a lifetime were just they're just average punters that have got the absolute best condition that we've seen.
I just checked.
I was there that day.
It was ninety six when Shane Besham scored three perfect ten rides in a WSL event at Kira, which was unpreced He got three perfect tents, like three perfect barrel rides. But if you look at you Instagram over the last two or three days, I've just been swamp with.
Every dude getting these.
And we were joking about how Mick Fanning did not the numbers day, the prey numbers day.
But if you watch closely, there's been to everyone's doing that.
It's almost like a it's a cathartic kind of religious experience people are going through. And the second thing, I mean just because everyone's put posting because they can get some numbers on posting these things. You try and find a surfing video of someone getting a wave on the Gold Coast at the moment without someone using.
The F word.
It's just every single video is like, man, that's bilth you wait for it, way for the eff and sick, every single one.

No, definitely a girl.
I can't even blame the producers for that. I just I just took a glance. Apologies.
Are familiar with the way this has been working this week, Georgie, Yeah, sort of, yep. So we're going to run through one of the one of the one of the great offerings up at the Eat and Drink Festival. I think lots of you're ducking into the restaurant today.
I am ducking in. There is sound effect for that.
Or there is.
Indeed, you going to duck in go through some of the flavors, and Georgie, if you can identify something that doesn't belong in the dish correctly, you.
Go into the major prize draw.
So what they've cooked.
Up for us this morning is the Greek lamb shoulder at Bistra Sea. Not a lamb shoulder, Yeah, a Greek lamb shoulder. So I guess Greek lamb shoulders the key you want to sound Greek into the greekness. So here's here's the ingredients. One of them should stand out as being incorrect.
Georgie.
First, first of all, we've got the smoked fetter scordalia.
Didn't you play for belmain.
The oregano potato, the solsa verde, the pickled shalot, the kale crisp and lemon. So you've got the old feediscordalia, the oregano potato, the salsa verde, the pickled shalotte, the kale, and the crisp cal crisp and the lemon.
So which one of those you reckon?
That's a tough one.
I reckon, you reckon.
The affimation I did carries not this yeah.
One doesn't sound great to you.
I think it's the second one.
Yeah, this is the sulsa one, you say, or which one? Or the oregano?
Which one?
Second one was that?
I need clarification whether that was oregon or sorcer the s Okay, you're going to lock in the salsa verde or congratulations during the draw.
For you, Jack? What is the salsa verde?
Mate? Look at that and cooked since the mid nineties.
It's like a perade coriander with like lemon and something.
Like delicious Mexican. It's not great, is it? Span Peter the Saltiers has never eat and I can.
Tell you that when you throw that back in your face, eat, smash it with the plate.
He dead set on the floor.
We were dropping hints like lead balloons during that one.

The ash Letzi and Nikki Osborne Podcast.
Right, you know, I spent a bit of time on the Gram and I tend to get a little bit bogged down in the comments section. Bit good, bit bad.
You really do?
You dig deep a lot of the times. It's very funny though.
Like as long as it's getting, you know, putting you in a positive space.
Because people a lot of trash.
Yeah, they do write a lot of trash. But sometimes what do you hope to get out of it? Jokes? Usually? Yeah, I convert all of my life's pain into jokes. That's how I.
Cope peeling through humor.
Yes, exactly, Ashley, that is what I do. But it's not just me. Everyone's on the pointy end of trolling online, which is why I am going to talk about Disney snow White, which has just come out, and the comment section blew up on the music. I would love some.
True's favorite troll of the week.
Trolls of the week. That's right, I'm digging deep, not just into my my comment section, but comment sections that really light up and tickle my fancy.
Oh right, So just specific things that have happened during the week.
So it's snow white drop no white trailer has dropped?
And who's slanks? Now what.
Rachel Zailor?
Is that how you pronounce that picture? Animated?
She is real, but the seven dwarves are not. They are c G.
I would be spearing.
He absolutely would have got that role.
Oh she looks, she looked. I could see her bank snow white.
And I think across the board, people like, what the hell? We've got so many dwarf actors out there don't even know this would be their moment.
Peter Dinglich would be the head one. Who's the head?
He'd be grumpy, wouldn't he?
Well?
The one in charging one, ye, like he's like the Rudolph and now doors No, no dancing the top of the swarves what we call them, by the way, dwarves, Yes, dwarves.
That's okay, that's.
The okay, Tom and the The thing is, it's some sort of weird inverted political correctness here, like they're trying to be politically correct by using CGI when really they've put seven really good actors out of work and out of their role of a lifetime.
And there's actually that's the thing, Like there's dwarf actors something Brisbane.
They're expensive. We try to hire them once for that miter jousting we did well.
Peter Dinklish didn't think when Oscar or so he was, I.
Won a ton of Emmy's three Game of Thrones.
Yes, he's amazing. But anyway, let's go straight to the comments section. Here are some of my favorite ones. If I saw this movie on a plane, I'd still walk out. This trailer made me want to sit on the TV and look at the couch. I paid nothing to watch this trailer, but I already want my money back.
Is that bad that?
I know? But it's funny.
No, I'm saying, is it that bad the film? That sounds hard?
I think people are actually outraged that they're not real actors.
All that.
Yeah, I think I think the lead actress she caused them. She tried to put a modern spin on what they're how they're retwisting the old the old tail and modernizing it and taking the sort of love story out of it and the damsel in distress, and it just sort of set people off.
Like I'm rooting for the poison Apple. This movie should come with the disclaimer no dwarves were harmed, but your childhood might be. I haven't seen something self implode this hard since the Titan Submarine.
Oh that's dark, that's dark.
But this is where people go right snow white and the seven CGI abominations.
Isn't that obvious? Oh yeah, you go through it.
The exception of Peter in English, I can't think of one other about Peter Feller.
Well we got gaff but he doesn't. Well, they could have got the game a little of definitely got the game.
Mostly real estate these days.
But the trailer. I was watching the trailer and I was hooked. I saw it in the cinema. I saw the trailer and I was like, this looks great, and it was Rachel and then it was what's it. It's Galgado, the woman and it's what it had me. And then all of a sudden enter the dwarves and it's like.
Yeah, it's ridiculous.
They got big noses and stuff.
They've just gone and ruined it.
I'm not angry at it.
I'm not looking at that going I want to I want to get straight online and start trolling.
You have a job, and that's true.
You have a job, and.
You're suggesting if you watch it, Latti and you didn't enjoy it, you just put it down and get on with your day.
Like most humans. But the Internet is it's filled with people that usually don't have jobs, and they're laying it out online. So anyway, making the Dwarves look like ps one Hagred was a bold choice. Anyway, coming to cinema soon if you want to check it out.

There can't be a double A.
They can't night two H.
Really can we get? Is d I a double r H E R two R? That's where we got cool.
I should have made that the question.
What are we focusing on that.

Sisterhood the ash Ltzie and Nikki Osborne podcast.
Let's so you were talking about how you think flight's going to be grounded. Is that what's happening?
Is that's what my uber drove told me last night. But that could be yes.
But I can't see how the airport's going to work if it's as bad as we're telling everyone it's going to be.
At the moment.
We don't want another Delta Airlines scenario. Itad no, thank you, no, Well, it just made me.
Think I'll be canceled for sure.
I have to the times, the amount of times that I've missed a flight for some reason or another. It reminded me of when we went to Europe in twenty twenty three. We were in the UK and it had been raining for six weeks straight and we just went stuff this, let's go to Greece. So we flew to Paxos, which is I think it's just off the Albanian coast, but it's still considered a Greek island. And anyway, we had a great time. Actually, no, we got COVID and Teddy actually redecorated.
This sounds like the worst trip of all time.
You were in England for six weeks and it rained every day for six weeks.
Yes, and sounds like the worst trip ever.
We flew to Greece because we knew would be able to get an accommodation because everything was on fire. Remember when all the islands were on fire because of the heat wave, and we're like, oh, we'll be able to get a calm now, let's just go.
One of those families that jumps towards.
It, towards the flags, like, where where is the first responder?
It just had fires through the whole city.
To be fair, Yes, that was our thing. So it was for a bit, but then we got the biggest storm ever. But then we met all these people on the island, a whole bunch of expats, and we got on with them. We had parties with them and all of that. And then anyway, the day we were leaving, we're down at the harbor to catch our ferry to go and get a flight from Corfu, and that they wouldn't let us board. No one was allowed to board this bloody fairy. And we didn't know what was going on because we don't speak Greek, and there was chaos, and then Jeremy's text one of our mates who kind of they know everyone on the island. She said, oh, yes, something's gone down, and so they've grounded everyone on the island. Then all the Feds start pulling up on the boat. What happened was we got a text from our friend going, oh, yeah, our other friends that were at dinner with last night, you know how we left the restaurant and we're like, yeah, in the main square, Yeah, just after you left, there was a mafia hit in front of the restaurant and they had to like they were first on seeing. Yeah, we shot five times in the main square on this island and they were dealing with all of that, but they hadn't caught the culprit yet, so they'd grounded the island. Anyway, Jeremy being Jeremy and refusing to miss a flight, he started haggling with all these dudes with their little rib boats, these little Greek guys with rib boats, And we ended up jumping on some tiny little blow up thing with a guy called Christof And I had to hold all the suitcases down and a big storm had come through to so we're like hanging through these massive waves. My suitcases are bouncing up around my head. But anyway, we made it to the airport. We did just make our flight.
But yeah, I feel like the mafia hit men just quickly probably would have found a way to get a fe island as well.
No, they got him.
He was stupid.
Yeah, credit car, But I've got to do a phone in them.
But when you've been a part of the Marthia hits.
Yeah yeah, that'd be a good one.
Yeah, when did you break them and you got away with it?
Some people The Ashti and Nikki Osborne podcast.
Probably of the best years of my life.
I reckon Sydney Olympics.
I opened the Sydney Olympics.
Fantastic, were fantastic tables.
Oh I was pretty little, wasn't I We should remember.
I should and I had a perm and how good was that track? I was on fire.
Lutsie and I lived large. We had the Sydney two thousand Olympics in your prime. That was a phenomenal mid twenties. Yeah, and we stayed on like a five star luxury yacht stop on Sydney Harbor.
Yeah, on Darling Harbor.
Darling Harbor, like there's the there's the opera house, there's there's pretty cool bridge. Oh this is we had.
We had an Infinity Pass. We could go wherever he wanted.
It's pretty cool.
And most importantly, we had this thing called T three. Yes, it meant that we had chauffeurs that drove us around at this point, but we had we had chauffeurs drive us from where we just call them up and say can he come picks up here?
Technically we didn't have access to them. But on the first day, I just hailed some Olympic looking car and showed my credentials and he mistakenly some ninety four year old.
Volunteer, let me in, gave me the phone number.
You get ring to get these Olympic family cars.
And then I just became I get I get cars.
Eight.
Let's get eight cars, and that'd come in like a bloody royal family's visiting.
I feel like on this show we're trading off you guys being relatable, and I feel like you just kind of undid.
All of that.
We were.
We were full of bs. That's we were grafting.
We went to that what was the name of that place?
These we weren't invited that either. We were just we were. We were just pushing hard.
We were hustling.
We were hustling. We were hustling.
I believe it.
Listening to though, yes what we got.
Remember I was listening to you too. I'm not going to pick you to I'm going to lock in early Day.
Don't say Yellow, I'm going to say.
My Happiness, powder Finger.
Oh, he's gone for it.
JC and the Sunshine Group.
I don't want to I want to go for one of the girls, but I've noticed that the girls never win on this So I'm going to try and go for a winner today and I'm going for Yellow by Coldplay.
The danger here is that we were picking silver songs and we're going to split our strengths.
You know what I'm saying. You know what I'm saying.
Oh, you don't think I should choose that one?
If you locked it in or not.
I haven't locked it in yet. I want to see what Ash does.
Mitdrum corn, you're in.
You can come in when everyone wants. I'm choosing between one of two. Emotional.
It was a big year for us, buddy, I do get emotional.
I think saw you that I'd killed someone. Kylie, She's probably my third choice. This, this video, though, is one of the all time great videos. This is Kylie. This is the gold Pants and you know what I'm talking about. Oh yeah, if you know, you know this is what I like. I like. I'm tossing up between Brittany. This was Yeah, this was her first one. This was come on, Yeah, this is a good song.
You like this, Alisha, you'd vote for this, Alisha.
Yeah, I'm locking this in.
Brittany, by the way, you know, good on you too.
Because International Women's Day, or I thought Nicky would have gone with a woman given that International Women's Day this weekend, as she went for.
Coldplay, Finally enough a cyclone called elf. She went complated its coming to Ruin and it was Vanilla.
Well, I just thought you would have picked the woman perfect opportunity.
Actually said, well, it is International Women's Week week, when is it?
No, it's the day, it's Saturday. It's when Alfred comes and ruins it all, all the functions I was meant to go to all over thanks to Goode.
What do you going?
It's where are you going?
Me?
You know what? I was toying with.
The thumbs up for the boys, But it's on every second re a little bit of creed. But I think I might go after It was a big song last year with some insign a Deadpool and Wolverine.

Okay, we can lock that in four? How do you that?

Who I was going to go? I met no bugger. Sure she were giving me that age dirt bag inspired by Lutzi. There we go.
Good.
So how was the other thing I was tossing up between between Brittany and this?
If that out rates in sync? Bye bye?
Come on, guys, I reckon Britney's a fair chair fair.
Chant see ash Lutzi and Nikki Osborne podcast.
Have you experienced any panic buying in your local supermarket?
I must say the Sunshine Coast, they've got their wits about them. It's all fine and credit to the supermarkets. They've kept everything stopped and I know that they've bent rules for the supermarkets to be able to stock all throughout the night. And we've had no trouble. I know, Mitch you you you were on.
The I wasn't panic buy he went.
He was one of the one of the worst.
He raided. The whole was that the woolies or coals? How was the woolies of all their red.
Bull Give it to me. I can't rippen by water. Some might just give me energy drinks.
You know, you can't keep a generator going on red bull not that, and don't give you four children give your wings. Imagine having four children locked in for a few days and you're just applying them full of red balls. Experiment the red bull will be filmed, they'll bust the windows from inside out.
Potentially we get crazy and you're still going to stay hydrated in some way.
That's all about you.
Without Aubertes, how are you going to survive?
It's a very good point.
Have you actually thought about very good point? Actually thought of shopping and maybe.
Ort a six pack of four and twenties the other day. But there's frozens.
If the microwave doesn't work, you need stuff if you if you've got gas, something that you can cook with gas.
You know what we speak.
That's completely My attitude too, is it'll be right.
I mean, it'll be just enough.
The electricity deal would be.
Yeah. I don't know that I've gone without electricity for like I can remember as a gear it up in Harvey Bay. You'd cop it and you'd be like, you know, a couple of hours like that was candles and all the rest of it. I don't know that I've ever gone a sustained period without electricity. Even those storms we had on the Gold Coast, we were lucky enough that we didn't lose power.
Then I know plenty of people did what do you do with the fridge?
Just don't open it until absolutely necessary and keep freeze all your meat.
Yeah it goes too Yeah, well.
There goes all your bait for the next six months ash and then you have to clean it out again. You'll be up to y elbows, guts. I know, yuck.
A good reminder. I don't keep a lot of bait like ash.
I've got one little thing in the freezer, it would be something I would forget about. Yeah, we're thinking about gaffer taping the fridge shut though, or just don't go and open it.
Yeah, that's the problem. They got kids. Some kids going to open and record.
They go and stand there for like five minutes trying to work out what flavors super dup. But they're going to have me while there goes all your meals for the next five days.
It's pretty brutal.
Let's say it doesn't come to that children that No, we won't come to that where we're just looking at worst case scenario. We'll just make make sure everyone's prepared just in case. You know, it may be just one little area where a tree falls over a power line and they're out and so we're speaking on their behalf. I think Queensland are pretty match fit for this sort of thing.
What do you do all that whole hydroponic setup you've got in your basement as Oh.
Shit, see ash Ltzie and Nikki Osborne podcast.
Be a busy week for the weather people out there.
This is the moment for them to shine. This is it and Josh Holt does a great job. We've seen him Channel ten meteorologist and is joining us now. Good morning, Josh, Joshua.
Are Good morning crew, Good morning.
What is the what is the latest mate? When are we expecting it to hit and wear?
Yeah, well it's all still going to plan. We saw Alfred do that U turn yesterday. It's now headed back west towards the southeast Queensland coast. Now there hasn't been a huge change overnight. It looks like the system is going to cross the coast fairly closed to areas of Brisbane. Now, I just want to make it really clear that these systems can also change their path obviously, so we have that area which extends all the way from Double Island Point down to Grafton and New South Wales. But at this stage it certainly does look like the system across the cases of category too. So you're talking about possible wind steeds up around about one hundred and sixty kilometers per hour. So obviously in the destructive category that's very strong, indeed strong enough to be down trees, power lines, things like that cause damage to homes and properties. Today is the day, so everyone should be hammer and tongs getting getting everything set up at home, tied down and prepared.
So things like really bins and that you have to drag them all into shelter, and.
Like what furniture out door.
Furniture, not discussions bringing them you make.
You make a really good point because usually see we see these systems in northwest plane, right, so the locals there are very used to them, they know what to do, et cetera.
Like that.
You know, this is very rare to see a tropical cyclone in this fast south. Of course, it was nineteen to seventy four tropical cyclones zo the last time, so this might be a little bit foreign to some people. But yeah, you're exactly right. Will the wheely beans in tid any loose items around your home that could get airborne, like projectiles, things like that, And also prepare for really heavy rain. I think actually personally, this is one of the biggest risks with this system. These tropical systems hold so much moisture can produce very heavy rain in short periods of time. So we're urging everyone to stay safe and that just bear in mind that heavy rain will really unleash over the next few days across the southeast.
Is it true that when it does cross and I get that you can't be specific. You can't say it's coming in here because it's a cyclone. It could change. But once it does hit land and it's no longer being able to draw the heat off the water, does it run out of you from that point on? Like the second, it won't get stronger when a head, it will get weaker. Correct.
So a tropical cyclone feeds off the ocean, that's its fuel source. It needs sea surface temperatures to twenty six point five degrees or higher to develop and maintain its strength. So the waters actually off southeast Queensland are warm enough at the moment to support that, and that's why we're seeing the system being able to survive this far south. But you're right, once it crosses the coast, it immediately loses that fuel source, so it will start to weaken. Now I want to stress this is really really important. When cyclones make land, for it doesn't mean they're not a threat anymore, because ex tropical cyclones or even tropical depressions can be still just as dangerous. Look what happened in Cyclone Jasper just over a year ago in North Queensland. That was an ex tropical cyclone that just stalled over Cans and look at the amount of rainfall that they got in that period of time and it caught everyone off guard.
So so the.
Real danger is if these systems store over one area, so that can be really dangerous as well. So even if it crossed the coast and everyone says yep, it's made landfall, now, that doesn't mean it's safe to go outside. So you just need to be a little bit careful in regardless.
So I remember in twenty two in the floods, it just the system just kept staying above us. It wouldn't bugger off, it would not move. And that lasts a month. Now, this can't last for a month, can it.
No, No, it won't last for a month. It's just over the next few days. You just got to be vigilant once it makes landfall, which look at this stage, I'm just looking at the latest timing. Yeah it looks it does look like yeah, it's still going to be tomorrow.
Yeah, it doesn't cross Josh like right as it coincides with that high time midnight isn't it.
Well, I've checked the Gold Coast. There's been not sort of a Gold coast, so I mean Jesus, yeah, that's right.
So Christ at the same time as that that's going to do a great erosion.
Yeah, that's right.
I had a look at the the tigh tides. It was from a memory. It was one o'clock I think the Gold Coast on Thursday in the afternoon, and then obviously it'll be very late at night. It does look I'm just looking at the latest tracks actually, and it does look like it has slown up a little bit, which means, look, this is going to change dramatically again over the next twenty four hours. Because what cyclones can do is they get towards the coast, they can do sort of little s spend maneuvers if you if you get my drift. So if they do sort of like go sort of you know, up and down or left and right, it slows them up. If they go directly towards the coast, it'll come in quicker, do you know what I mean? So the time of when exactly across the coast may change up a little bit.
No chance that it'll that it'll just stay off the coast.
It's coming.
It's it's coming that the models have been. They were hopeless last week agreeing about what Alpha was going to do, but this week, with the turnaround coming back towards the coast, there has been that constant consensus right through this week. So I'm very, very very confident that it is going to cross the southeast coast of Queensland, close to the northeast coast of New South Wales as well, obviously having a big impact there too.
South of the border.
Absolutely, I'm thinking of Lismore as well. God I hope that they get out.
And remember and remember cyclones spin and a clockwise formation, so when you've got the eye, it's the southern side of the low on the east coast where you'll see the most severe conditions, so the strongest winds and the heaviest rain so that rain band, all those rain bands that sheer off the eye of the cyclone will be whipping down and across parts of the Gold Coast and in particular northeast New South Wales. So I'm expecting floating across that region south of the border as well.
All right, mate, great coverage, good talking to you. We'll stay in touch and keep everyone up to date. Thanks Josh, that's good. Josh Holt Channel ten Meteorologists
