Ugandan traders flee Kenya following Ruto's small-business crackdown

Ugandan traders and other East African migrants have begun leaving Kenya after President William Ruto's directive to close small-scale retail and hawking businesses run by foreign nationals.

Meanwhile, Government Spokesperson Charles Owino has warned against the harassment, intimidation and discrimination of foreign nationals as the government implements the new regulations on small-scale trade.

Lulu Gaboo spoke to Samuel Mburu, the Secretary General of Kenya National Alliance of Street Vendors and Informal Traders (KENASVIT).
