The United Kingdom is set to host a virtual meeting involving around 35 countries to address efforts to reopen the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, which has been severely disrupted by the ongoing Middle East conflict. Speaking to the media, Prime Minister Keir Starmer says the meeting will explore all viable diplomatic and political options to restore freedom of navigation, ensure the safety of stranded ships and seafarers, and resume the flow of critical commodities. This comes after remarks by Donald Trump, who warned that it would have serious implications for the future of NATO if member states fail to assist in reopening the Strait.
