South Africa's Chief Director for Global Governance and Continental Agenda at the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) Ambassador Dave Malcomson wants to strengthen halal food certification and expand broader halal sector cooperation with Pakistan as both countries work to deepen trade and investment ties. Malcomson was speaking during a dIplomacy dialogue hosted by DIRCO in collaboration with the Pakistan High Commission in South Africa in Johannesburg. The African Diaspora Forum ADF - has expressed concern regarding recent diplomatic responses by certain African governments following anti-undocumented migrant marches in South Africa. The ADF acknowledges the genuine frustrations that exist around undocumented migration and supports the proper documentation of all foreign nationals to assist the South African government in governing its territory effectively, lawfully, and in the interest of all who reside within its borders. Nigerian forces, working with the United States Africa Command  -AFRCICOM, through a series of joint air and ground strikes in the country's northeast,  destroyed checkpoints, weapons caches, logistics hubs, and financing networks used by Islamic State West Africa Province, which has led a years-long insurgency in the region.
