Morocco's King Mohammed VI has appointed Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri as the country's prime minister, making her the first woman to hold the position in the North African nation. In a statement, the Royal Palace said the King had tasked El Mansouri, who serves as Urban Planning Minister and Mayor of Marrakesh, with forming a new government. The announcement comes four days after the results of Morocco's parliamentary elections were announced. El Mansouri's centre-right Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) won 97 of the 395 seats in parliament.
