Ethiopia is scheduled to hold its general election on 1 June 2026, marking the country's seventh national vote and the first nationwide election since the end of the devastating Tigray conflict in 2022. More than 50.5 million people are registered to vote, a 32% increase compared to 2021. However, reports indicate that millions in the conflict-affected Tigray region will not participate in the process.
