China’s success in eliminating absolute poverty could provide a roadmap for developing countries across the Global South. This is according to the President of the African Policy Institute and former Kenyan government adviser, Peter Kagwanja.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the recently concluded International Seminar on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in China’s Ningxia Autonomous Region, Kagwanja said the forum had created an important platform for sharing China’s poverty alleviation experience with developing nations.
He argued that lessons from China’s development journey could help countries across Africa and the wider Global South address poverty, promote inclusive growth and accelerate socio-economic development.
