Aid agencies urge UN General Assembly to restore funding for Sudan crisis

As world leaders prepare to gather at the UN General Assembly, aid agencies are urging governments and institutional donors to maintain support for essential health services in Sudan.

They say that as the ongoing war drives Sudan's needs, funding cuts are shrinking the response to the world's largest humanitarian crisis. An estimated 33.7 million people are projected to need humanitarian aid in 2026, representing the highest number globally.
