World Leukemia Day was observed on the 4th of September to help raise awareness of leukaemia, which is a cancer of the blood cells. This annual global campaign is run in collaboration by patient groups from across the globe. This year, the South African advocacy organisation Campaigning for Cancer joined forces with the global Acute Leukaemia Advocates Network, to create and share two posters summarising important info about leukaemia, to ensure that empowering and life-saving knowledge is available to everyone. There are over 300-thousand deaths caused by leukaemia worldwide. For more on the nature of this condition, Channel Africa's Aurelie Kalenga spoke to chief executive officer of Campaigning for Cancer, Lauren Pretorius
