Tanzania's President Samia Suluhu Hassan's government has suspended all nationwide political rallies indefinitely. The directive, announced by Home Affairs Minister Patrobas Katambi, orders police to stop issuing permits for public political gatherings until further notice. This ahead of the planned July the 7th youth protest. Civil society organisations and the opposition political parties have criticised the decision calling it unconstitutional.  Peter Ndoro spoke to Deus Kibamba, Policy and Political Analyst and the Executive Director at the Tanzania Citizens Information Bureau in Dar es Salaam
