Mozambican civil rights organisations, including the Center for Democracy and Human Rights (CDD) and Amnesty International, are demanding urgent compensation, justice, and reparations for victims of the October 2024 deadly anti-government uprising. Reports indicate over 400 people were killed and severe injuries from police brutality during the protests. The demand is part of an ongoing inclusive national dialogue aimed at peace building following the 2024 general elections.
