Senegal's former president Macky Sall is one of four candidates auditioning today* (Wednesday) for the United Nations' top job. Sall is the only African among those vying to replace outgoing Secretary-General António Guterres, who leaves office at the end of the year. The United Nations is holding interviews - formally known as interactive dialogues- for the post of the next Secretary-General. The other candidates are Costa Rican diplomat Rebeca Grynspan, Argentinian IAEA chief Rafael Grossi, and Chilean diplomat Michelle Bachelet. Senegal's former President, Macky Sall vies for UN top job as Africa’s sole candidate in Secretary-General race

The administration of Malawian President Peter Mutharika, is facing a major corruption scandal involving the Public Service Pension Trust Fund and the acquisition of the Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre.  Parliament and government agencies are probing the deal after independent assessors valued the property at only about 2.4 million dollars. The deal has especially outraged Malawians because it appears that about 4.2million dollars of pensioners savings have disappeared. Investigations into the deal have highlighted significant governance failures.Tsepiso Makwetla spoke to Benedicto Kondowe, Counsel and Chairperson of the National Advocacy Platform (NAP)
