Senegal's former President, Macky Sall vies for UN top job as Africa’s sole candidate in Secretary-General race

Senegal's former president Macky Sall is one of four candidates auditioning today* (Wednesday) for the United Nations' top job. Sall is the only African among those vying to replace outgoing Secretary-General António Guterres, who leaves office at the end of the year. The United Nations is holding interviews - formally known as interactive dialogues- for the post of the next Secretary-General. The other candidates are Costa Rican diplomat Rebeca Grynspan, Argentinian IAEA chief Rafael Grossi, and Chilean diplomat Michelle Bachelet. Former President Sall was nominated by Burundi, which currently holds the rotating presidency of the African Union.  Peter Ndoro spoke to Senegalese Civil Right activist Political Analyst,  Prof Dennis Ndour
