The administration of Malawian President Peter Mutharika, is facing a major corruption scandal involving the Public Service Pension Trust Fund and the acquisition of the Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre. Parliament and government agencies are probing the deal after independent assessors valued the property at only about 2.4 million dollars. The deal has especially outraged Malawians because it appears that about 4.2million dollars of pensioners savings have disappeared.
