Algeria has officially severed all diplomatic ties with the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The North African nation has also closed its airspace to all UAE registered private and military aircrafts. The breakdown of relations between Algeria and the UAE was triggered by the allegations that the UAE has been providing financial support to rebel group - Movement for the Self Determination of Kabylie - operating in Algeria. Allegations the UAE has denied. Algeria also accuses UAE of teaming up with Morocco - a historic regional rival.
