Fewer than half of people surveyed across Africa say they have a reliable supply of electricity, according to a new report by Afrobarometer. The study, covering 38 African countries, finds that rural and poorer households are significantly less likely to have access to reliable power. Almost a quarter of those surveyed say they use alternative sources of electricity, most commonly solar.
