Doctors Without Borders Warns of Deepening Humanitarian Crisis Amid Escalating Violence in South Sudan

Botswana has officially struck down sections of its law that criminalised same-sex relations. The decision follows a landmark 2019 High Court ruling that declared the law to be illegitimate. Botswana joins several African countries that are amending their laws in efforts to root out discrimination, inequality and human rights violation. Africa's legal landscape remains deeply polarized as strict anti-homosexuality laws still exist and are being enforced in some countries. To help us shed light on the topic, Peter Ndoro spoke to Tshepo Madlingozi, the South African Human Rights Commissioner.

Botswana Repeals Same-Sex Ban as Africa Remains Divided on LGBTQ+ Rights Laws

The first flight of so-called third-country deportees from the US, is expected to arrive in Sierra Leone today(Wednesday) transporting 25 nationals from Senegal, Ghana, Guinea and Nigeria. Sierra Leone signed a Third Country National Agreement with the US to accept 300 ECOWAS citizens from America, per year with a maximum of 25 people a month. The US has previously sent third-country deportees to African states including Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and Eswatini. Tsepiso Makwetla spoke to Sierra Leone Foreign Affairs Minister, Timothy Kabba
