The Nigerian Government has expressed condolences to the governments and peoples of South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe following the tragic loss of lives in recent devastating floods. The floods are reported to have claimed the lives of more than 200 people and displaced thousands across parts of Southern Africa after weeks of torrential rainfall that left entire communities cut off. In Zimbabwe, the Manicaland province has been hardest hit, with 41 fatalities and hundreds of displacements. Zimbabwe's Manicaland province hardest hit by ongoing floods involving SA and Mozambique 

Uganda's opposition party the National Unity Platform (NUP), has intensified its rejection of the outcome of the 15 January general elections, which returned President Yoweri Museveni to power. Speaking to Channel Africa after a protest march at the Ugandan Embassy in Pretoria on Monday, NUP convener Richard Kamya, accused the Ugandan authorities of presiding over a fundamentally compromised electoral process. Kamya alleged widespread military interference in voting, ballot stuffing, and systematic manipulation of results, saying the party does not recognise the election outcome and considers the process illegitimate. Namibian courts have seen a steady increase in the number of divorce cases in the past three years, with some blaming a lack of experienced pastors, who may not be fully equipped to guide couples through marital challenges. This comes as the country's High Court recorded a total of 111 divorce cases today, with the Windhoek division recording 67, and the Oshakati division recording 44 divorce matters on the roll. Despite this rise, Namibia remains on the lower end of divorce rates when compared to neighbouring African countries, including South Africa at  2.1 per 1,000 population and Zimbabwe at 0.07 per 1,000 people.
