Botswana is set to begin issuing identification and travel documents to refugees and asylum seekers residing in the country.
Nelson Ramaotwana, Botswana's Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, announced this during the World Refugee Day celebrations at Dukwi Refugee Settlement, located about 560 kilometers northeast of Gaborone, the nation's capital.
Ramaotwana explained that this initiative is part of Botswana's commitments made at the 2021 Global Refugee Forum, aimed at protecting and supporting displaced individuals.
