A Child's Appearance

It really shouldn't matter how your child chooses to creatively express themselves in their appearance.  Those things are minor. It's more important that you focus on their heart.

A love language minute. Here's Doctor Gary Chapman on our kids appearances and creative expression.

I don't really think it's important how long the kid's hair is, or even what color it is as they get older. Our son in college would have orange hair and red hair and no hair. You know, that's not really the issue. The issue is the heart. You know, and we always tried to focus on the heart and not on the not on the minor issues, which I know to some parents are not minor because we all have our ideas. And, you know, we all feel, well, this is a Christian thing, and they ought to dress this way, they ought to talk this way, and they ought to sing these kind of songs. But, you know, we believe that God speaks in many different ways, and people are creative, you know, and we have to allow the creativity that God gave them. And yes, some people use their creativity in ways that I don't understand. But we try not to major on the minors with our children, but to really major on the things that the scriptures are very clear about.
