Clever Hopes, a Canadian indie-folk band from Dartmouth, is led by the vision of singer-songwriter Andrew Shaver. His roots, however, date back to his Toronto origins and his past experience as a theatre director. This coming Saturday, he is paying a visit to The Red Bird on Bank Street, and with a new album in hand. Shaver joins Andrew Pinsent to talk about his musical journey, and his latest endeavour called ‘Even Gooder Than Tomorrow’.

After 11 days of international competition, the Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Championships came down to the final plays. Canada fought valiantly in a see-saw battle with the United States, but fell short 77-76 in Saturday’s Gold Medal Game at TD Place. Both of Canada's top scorers dropped 30-plus points in the finale. Wheelchair Basketball Canada CEO Wendy Gittens says this tournament highlights the kind of athletes that play this sport, adding that the response from Ottawa fans throughout the tournament exceeded expectations. She joins Andrew Pinsent on today’s edition of Simply Ottawa.
