Following initial reports from The Globe and Mail, five players from the 2018 World Junior team will need to report to London Police to face sexual assault charges after years worth of controversy around the allegations and Hockey Canada facing increased scrutiny for accountability, transparency, and safety priorities.
NDP MP Peter Julian, who was on parliamentary committees discussing Hockey Canada, tells Graham Richardson these developments are further emblematic of long-standing systemic issues in sport he is cautiously optimistic will start being addressed.
