In a letter to Mayor Mark Sutcliffe last week, former city councillor Alex Cullen said that Ottawa’s aging infrastructure is a problem that ‘cannot be responsibly put off any longer’. He notes the average age for Ottawa’s arenas and rinks is 45 years old, while aquatic facilities are an average age of 40 years old. Ottawa Now - Former city councillor says Ottawa's aging infrastructure can't be pushed aside any longer

The proposed high-speed rail line between Ottawa and Montreal is facing a roadblock east of Ottawa. The United Counties of Prescott-Russell is refusing to grant Alto access to municipal land to study the line. It has also declined to sign a non-disclosure agreement with Alto. The Crown corporation has already begun conducting environmental assessments on private properties for the proposed rail line, but has faced significant opposition from rural property owners and politicians from all levels of government. Joining Kristy Cameron on today's Ottawa Now is Clarence-Rockland Mayor Mario Zanth, who is also the Warden for the United Counties.
