We are nearly a full month away from Voting Day, as this term of Ottawa City Council cherishes its final days together. Most will be back for the next term, but not everyone. And whoever survives the next 5 weeks, they will have plenty of questions to answer and topics to address. As a voter, what are your priorities? Kristy Cameron sifts through the CFRA textboard and tackles today’s Question of the Day. Turning our attention to the federal political arena, Prime Minister Mark Carney says his government will shepherd the most ‘consequential’ legislation in decades. In case you didn’t know, the Fall Session of Parliament begins on Monday. Addressing his Liberal caucus on Friday, Carney promised to push legislation on social media safety, saying that Canada can ‘lead the world’ in digital safeguards. He also promised movement on subsidies for young people getting into the skilled trades, and to expand trade on a series of industrial exports. CTV political analyst Scott Reid drops by for a visit. Plus, Kristy pays a genuine compliment to Ottawa’s transit system. No clickbait. No bets lost.
