Why Do I Feel So Lonely Despite Having Close Friends & Family? With Dr Jonathan Andrews

View descriptionShare

In 2023, the World Health Organisation declared that loneliness was becoming a 'global public health concern'.

Other psychologists have described this as 'the loneliness epidemic'.  Loneliness and social isolation are huge problems in the western world, despite, in theory, humanity being more connected than at any point in history.

To help us answer this question is Dr Jonthan Andrews, a Clinical Psychologist who works with adults helping them to overcome depression and anxiety.

Jono is the director of Heart in Mind, a psychological practice in Brisbane's inner north, and also holds a position as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Queensland.

He is the author of the book “The Reconnected Heart: How Relationships Help us Heal” which explores how the heart is broken by bad or insufficient connection, and how a three way connection (God, self and others) can help us recover.
