Mika
Abrahams, a 16-year-old sensation from
Johannesburg, South Africa, is set to become the
first South African to participate in Formula
1 racing since 1979 World Champion Jody
Scheckter. Abrahams’ entry into F1 will also mark
a significant milestone as he will be the first South
African of colour to compete at this level.
Abrahams, who joined the 2023 ROKiT F4 British
Championship certified by FIA at the age
of 14, quickly made his mark in the racing world.
Teaming up with Fortec Motorsport, he
raced alongside British driver James Higgins,
becoming the youngest driver on the grid from
round four at Thruxton onwards.
