Queensland's road toll in 2024 reached a 15-year high with a total of 302 lives lost across the year.
Of the 302 lives lost, eight of them were from people using e-scooters, e-skateboards or solo wheels.
QPS Acting Superintendent of the Road Policing Group, Steve Newland told Shane Doherty on 4BC Summer Drive, "Within those 302 lives lost, we're still seeing in about 95% of those cases at least one of the fatal five as a contributing factor."
"That includes speeding, drink and drug driving, distraction, failing to wear a seatbelt and fatigue," Acting Superintendent Newland said.
