30年前,龙应台在《幸好我不是新加坡人》中曾批评新加坡社会对自由的压抑;如今再访狮城,她却主动要求参观垂直农场、了解粮食自给。她感叹新加坡的忧患意识和治理能力,真的值得肯定。
她卸下文化部长公职、隐居台东都兰山,写下《注视》,讲述她与鸡、蜂蛇、野猪之间的真实相处,也思考人类与自然的共生困境。当知道一只鸡也懂得快乐与痛苦,人会产生共情,明白生命平等。
面对台海局势,她仍愿发声,却选择以柔软和理性回应争议:“战争一旦爆发,什么都不在了。”她不再愤怒,却依旧关怀。她说:“我写《野火》时33岁,现在73岁的人有73岁该做的事。”

Writer Lung Ying-tai (龙应台) returns to Singapore three decades after her essay Thank God I'm Not Singaporean, this time asking to tour a vertical farm and praising the city's foresight and governance. In this Be My Guest (《有客到》) interview with Zaobao, she talks about her life in the mountains of Taitung and her book Gaze (《注视》) on living with chickens, wild boars and snakes, and about coexistence with nature.
