Hockey has a long and storied history, and the Toronto Maple Leafs have been there since the beginning of the NHL. Lexi LaFleur Brown's family have been there for even longer. The sport is in Lexi's blood -- from her indigenous ancestors on the ice to her family's long standing love (and suffering) of the Leafs, there was never a moment where Lexi's life didn't include hockey.
Lexi and I discuss the three eras her life and hockey have had -- playing the sport growing up, and loving it even when she was told she didn't belong on the ice, falling in love with her husband and building a life together around his NHL career, and now, writing her own hockey romance novels in Shoot Your Shot and Evening The Score. We talk about how her life simply wouldn't be the same without the sport, how she fell in love, out of love, and back in love again with it, and how she's helping carve out a more welcoming space for new fans, too.

Next week, Edward Schmit joins to discuss Tennis, and his new romance novel The Open Era!
