View descriptionShare

Tanvi Bali has been in the information security field for over a decade. She is a Senior Cyber and DevSecOps Lead who has experience working across industries including aerospace and defence, telecommunications and finance sectors. Tanvi possesses a passionate curiosity for learning new and emerging technologies and their related threats. As a security practitioner she leverages her decade of experience in IT infrastructure, software development and application security to help the business implement security measures and help them to better understand the risks and how to mitigate them, not just to demonstrate vulnerabilities. She is particularly interested in helping businesses understand and adopt security by design, security at speed, and security at scale—“DevSecOps” strategies in an optimal way!

In this episode LP and LV discuss Tanvi's courageous and inspiring story of how she went from being petrified of speaking and full of self-doubt, to speaking at The RSA conference (USA) in just a few short years.  Tanvi candidly shares her experiences, how she has taken positive steps to fight and overcome her fears of public speaking and the things she has learned including the tools she uses to help her prepare.  They also discuss some of the talks Tanvi has done since she graduated from Project Friedman, including her talk at RSA USA, the differences between speaking virtually v's in person PLUS the importance that we keep talking, the value of ongoing coaching and the need to celebrate those achievements.
