Mandii B and Weezy sit down with acclaimed writer and cultural critic Jamilah Lemieux to discuss her book Black Single Mother and unpack the stigma surrounding single motherhood, dating, co-parenting and blended families. Jamilah recalls discovering that her ex was engaged shortly after she gave birth, developing a healthy relationship with her daughter’s stepmother and why every woman who wants children should be prepared for the possibility of becoming a single mother. They also debate inconsistent fathers, discipline, introducing new partners to children and whether someone can be a bad partner but a good parent.
