It’s the midweek edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast with Eddie, Steve, and Declan.

After a promising start to the year, we weary Wests Tigers fans are trying to pick ourselves off the floor, and the podcast boys are no different.

There is a preview of our sides clash with the Roosters, a game that potentially has all the hallmarks of a Wests Tigers flogging.

But, with the Roosters also missing several star players, are they ripe for a loss in this one?

The boys also dig into some of Shane Richardson's quotes on departed hooker, Tallyn De Silva.

Was the boss right to let the talented rake walk now?

Or is the club continuing to just be the NRL walkovers?

Also up for discussion on this edition of the pod is the future of coach Benji Marshall, with the question being - can he withstand this firestorm?

Is he too tight with certain players? Should he be joining in at training? And, is he safe beyond 2025?

Plus, Eddie, Steve, and Declan rip into a few journalists and ex-players looking for clicks!

And Yioti's quiz brings up a player who had big shoes to fill!

Don't forget, win, lose, or draw, to leave your 'One Word' submission on the Roosters game in the live match thread on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum.

And feel free to join in the discussion on any Wests Tigers topic as well!

Let's hope that the boys can jag a rare Roosters win this weekend, and we'll see you for the post-match edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast on Monday morning.

Battered Wests Tigers Prep For Roosters Showdown

Just when things look like turning at Wests Tigers, we seem to end up back in the doldrums.

As things stand, there's not much to be happy or optimistic about, and yes, that does come through on this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast.

After surrendering to an under-strength Manly at Brookvale Oval on Friday night, Wests Tigers fans are now braced to lose another young prospect, Tallyn Da Silva.

Reports say the young hooker, touted by former coach Tim Sheens as a generational talent, has played his last game for us.

But, in true Wests Tigers fashion, we really could use him, at least this weekend, with Api Koroisau being unavailable due to a failed HIA.

Up for discussion on this edition of the podcast is the logic of letting Tallyn go to another club mid-season (although we struggle to find much logic in it).

The effects of letting players walk mid-season with nothing or very little in return.

We ask, why should the club's loyal members keep tipping in their hard-earned cash when the club consistently gives up on seasons at the mid-way point?

And will the team, after six straight losses, now drop its bundle completely? Or, will there be a turnaround?

There's a strong list of 'One Word' submissions from the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum, ranging from "Depressing" to "Confused" and 'Groundhog Day".

Despite the woes, there are a couple of positives discussed, including another win for the NSW Cup team and the performances of the Fainu brothers on Friday night.

Eddie has a new game to bring us as well.

Unfortunately, it is another post-loss edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, but we hope that you do enjoy it. Please don't forget to join the discussion on everything Wests Tigers on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum. Hope to see you there!

Another Tough Time For Wests Tigers Fans

Wests Tigers Podcast NRLW Edition 014

The Wests Tigers have once again lost a game by just a handful of points at Campbelltown Stadium.

After a somewhat disappointing first half, Wests Tigers trailed the Raiders 0-16 at halftime in the Friday night clash.

Some positional changes and the injection of a young star off the bench saw the Tigers get back in the game, scoring two quick tries after the break.

But the more fancied opponents held on for a 12-16 win.

The game comes on the back of mostly improved performances from our boys, but at least one member of the Wests Tigers Podcast team believes there's still one critical component missing - that killer instinct.

Have a listen and see if you agree or disagree, and as always, have your say on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum.

Also on this edition of the podcast, we share a great post from a Wests Tigers fan on Facebook, and this generates a debate on many aspects of the club we love.

Also up for discussion is the performance on Friday night of the Fainu brothers.

We also examine the other notable aspects of the Tigers' performance.

The bench and some individual efforts come in for some scrutiny, too.

Maybe on a not-unrelated topic, do we try and get Kai Pearce-Paul from the Knights this week? That deal would include letting Tallyn Da Silva go up the M1 on loan. See what the Wests Tigers Podcast team thinks of that possible move on this edition.

There's also a plethora of one-word contributions from the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum too.

It gets a little spicy at times, and some are more positive than others, but we hope you enjoy this big edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast.

Do Wests Tigers Lack That Killer Instinct?

After a bye weekend, Wests Tigers are back in action on Friday night against the Canberra Raiders.

Traveling to Campbelltown to meet the high-flying 'Green Machine', can our boys score a serious upset?

That's one question Eddie Otto, Steve Stretton, Declan McCutcheon, and super-sub Garry Watson try to answer on this edition of the pod.

Aside from a full preview of our game against the Raiders on Friday night, the boys look at whether Jerome Luai will play.

They also put our skipper's State of Origin performance under the microscope.

This is sure to start some conversations.

Who are the five greatest Wests Tigers players of all time? See who the boys come up with, and have your say on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum.

Also on the agenda: Is Royce Hunt on the outer at Wests Tigers?

Plus, what to expect in the future from our two NSW under-19 Origin reps.

A game of inches, Wests Tigers go down to the Penrith Panthers

It is game one of Luai v Cleary and it is Mid-week podcast time as Eddie and Garry are joined by regular guest Jordan to preview the game against the Panthers.

The boys are tasked with finding the 3 biggest positives since June 2024 at the Wests Tigers. What’s does the future hold for Benji Marshall? Should he be under pressure? Should the club prioritise re-signing Api over Tallyn De Silva?

Are the Tigers a chance of knocking over Penrith? What’s the change in the team the boys are most and least looking forward to? Plus, Yioti’s quiz.

Batman vs Robin

Things were looking pretty bleak for Wests Tigers fans after about an hour in Townsville.

However, trailing by a significant margin, the boys managed to regain some respectability with a late surge that fell just four points short.

On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel Helmes, Garry Watson, Steve Stretton, and Nick Hayes try to make sense of the 32-28 loss.

There were some worrying signs, there were some classic Wests Tigers-only moments, and then some real flair and potency in attack.

So, where exactly are we as a football team?

There's also a look at some of the promising performances from individual members of the team, including Starford To'a, Tony Sukkar, and Charlie Staines.

But what about the new five-eight?!

Heath Mason grabbed that number 6 jersey and did a lot right, both with the ball and in defence. So, what do with do with Latu Fainu this week?

The boys try and answer that question on this edition of the pod.

There are, of course, lots of 'One Word' submissions from members of the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum, including one that brings up a left-field coaching suggestion.

'Peter A' from the forum reckons we should make a coaching change and bring in the former Eels coach, Brad Arthur.

Another discussion on the podcast circles the refereeing, and we ask the question - does Benji need to burn $10,000 to get some respect from the officials?

Or, as some members of the pod believe, are we ultimately responsible for the way we get treated by the referee?

There's also some good news from the lower grades with wins recorded over the weekend. The question is, is there anyone we can call on to replace the HIA-affected Alex Twal?

Yes, it's another post-loss edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, but we hope you enjoy our take on things, and don't forget you can join the conversation now on the forum.
