Wellington Free Ambulance Board Chair Dame Kerry Prendergast joins Nick Mills on the show this morning to talk the record numbers of calls to ambulance over the last week.
Prendergast said Wellington Free Ambulance (WFA) responded to more than a third of the nearly 25,000 nationwide calls 111 on Saturday.
She says WFA are experiencing high demand , but "have more staff than ever before".
She stressed if you need the service call, don't hestitate because of the headlines.
"If it's a genuine emergency, you must dial 111."
