View descriptionShare

Join us this week as producer Laura Martin Baseman sits down with Sandy Campbell, Director of TrueKids1, to explore how this organization is supporting Taos youth.

Sandy introduces some of TrueKids1's key programs including:
* The Digital Media Lab
* Kids sscreens and Phones
* TK1 News

Highlighting the importance of hands-on experience, Sandy shares: "the more we get cameras in kid's hands, the more we get them editing, the more they have the ability to be intelligent about the media-infused world they currently live in."

TrueKids1 focuses on 16-20 year olds and finds that the people who come in on their own get the most benefit from the program. Truekids1's location on La Posta Plaza near Taos High School helps encourage young people to stop by during the school year. They also provide food and local transportation which can be a big boon for Taosanos.
