Today's dose of vitamin D is dedicated to love. What do they say love is? Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is understanding. Love feels good. It's free. All that good stuff. I was taken a look at a poem by one of my favorite poets, Andrea Gibson, and the title of this poem is "The Year of No Grudges" and in it she was talking about love.
She says, "Beauty is in the eye of anyone who sees what's missing, but can't stop pointing to what's still there. If there's no definition for love yet, I think that's a good one." Yeah. You know, sometimes when we look at things at the surface, we want to nit and pick at what's not there. What's not good enough, but love just is.
It is enough. It's ever flowing and I want all of us to be able to recognize it and we realize that when we talk about love it's affording grace. And what do I say? "Grace is space." Andrea continues on. "You know, Grace is super, super slippery. There's literally nothing anyone is more likely to fall from. Some sound advice I give myself, like twice an hour. Wear your kneepads on the way to your ego, Andrea."
Remember, "grace is space." Don't have such an ego on what things are "supposed" to be like and what the expectation of how love is "supposed" to show up. Because that's where your ego is going. And the ego doesn't allow you to stand up, but lets you fall down.
Remember, love affords you to see what's still there. So I got to ask you, what do you see?
All right. That's it for your dose of "Vitamin D." Be sure to follow us on all social media @VitaminDDawnDai and until next time, always remember, "you and your greatest asset."
