Transgender Awareness Week, running from November 13 to 19, is a week-long celebration to help raise the visibility of transgender people and address issues faced by members of the community, including prejudice, discrimination and violence. The week leads up to Transgender Day of Remembrance on November 20 to memorialize victims of transphobic violence.

Part of Bell’s corporate inclusion strategy is to introduce a new gender affirmation benefit available under the Plus medical plan to increase access and provide financial support to plan members throughout their transitioning process. This will supplement provincial health care plans up to a lifetime maximum of $20,000.
