Ted Farr was Canadian Sports History... He literally has more amazing stories he's forgotten about, than most of us will ever tell in our entire lives. I'll always cherish the times he spent with us, telling us about experiences he'd had, like when he was THERE for THE GOAL, back in the 70s when Team Canada Men's Hockey beat out the Russians for possibly the most incredible Canadian moment in hockey history... HE WAS THERE COVERING IT! I even have a pic of him holding a signed poster of 'the goal', which I'd like to frame and put it up on the wall in my pub. Where already he hangs, along with the Winnipeg Jets alumni, which he generously gave to me, complete with Ted's signature.
That cup, the AM 1150 mug in the picture is the one I would always fill with the remaining coffee in our coffee pot in the Virgin Radio studio, and I could not be more pumped to know have this in my possession. I cherish this cup, and it will ALSO go on my pub wall, a place we both spoke of in which he was to come chat about all things LACROSSE, sports history, what his grandson Johnathon, aka J was up to, where his wife Terrie would be headed next week on vacation, things like that. We held a special tribute to Ted at Bell Media last week, and I got to sip a scotch out of his cup. It took my 10 washes to get the stained, old coffee out. And I don't think I got it all out... so THERE the stains will remain!
We love you so much Ted, what we would do to have you come into our room just one more time and tell us a 'too long' story, or to brag about his grandson's latest lacrosse game, or show us a pic of his giant dogs.
