Welcome back to the Vikings Postgame Report. The Minnesota Vikings dropped preseason game #2 to the Patriots 20-12 at U.S. Bank Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Vikings offense set up four field goal attempts for Kicker Will Reichard, which he converted with ease. Sam Howell, Brett Rypien, and Max Brosmer all got reps at quarterback in the game, with Brosmer leading the team in total passing yards. Brosmer finished 15-of-27 for 156 yards and an INT. Running back Zavier Scott led the team in rushing for the second straight game, finishing with 28 yards on the ground. Wide Receiver Tim Jones led all receivers through the air with 5 receptions for 68 yards. Defensively, Austin Keys lead the team in tackles with 7 on the day. Despite intercepting Matt Stafford 3 times, the Vikings defense couldn’t hold the Rams offense in check enough to pull off the victory at home. The Vikings offense stalled at times and were not able to get into a consistent rhythm against Aaron Donald and the Rams stout defense. Wide receiver Justin Jefferson had a nice day catching 8 passes for 116 yards and set a new NFL record for most receiving yards by a wide receiver in their first two seasons with 2,758, breaking Odell Beckham Jr’s record of 2,755. The Vikings head out to Green Bay next for a week 17 border battle with the Packers.
