In Episode 54, Stuart McCullough goes on the road to film our new series of podcasts – the Member Spotlight – in which he stops at Maryborough District Health Service, to talk to Nickola Allan, Director of Clinical Services. This week’s episode takes a look at how Maryborough District Health Service has engaged with learning, innovation and growth through last month’s opening of the simulated learning environment, COIL – Centre of Inspired Learning. COIL is a flagship facility focused on a most common challenge for rural and regional health services – developing a workforce facility to train people locally so they don’t have to leave; attracting a much-needed workforce in health; and giving the whole community opportunities for education and training for local long-term development. This initiative has attracted a further $4.1 million grant to further develop purpose-built accommodation for medical interns, and nursing and allied health students coming through the organisation. Learn more about Maryborough’s program for innovation and growth in Episode 54.
