Voting Begins Smoothly with 93% of Stations Open on Time

Floyd Shivambu says he did not betray anyone but chose to defend the revolution. This after he resigned as EFF deputy president last week to join the Umkhonto WeSizwe (MK) party. EFF President Julius Malema came out guns blazing at EFF members who, in his view, silently betrayed the party for what he described as greener pastures. Shivambu is now the National Organiser of MK party. He says he voluntarily joined MKP for the right reasons and made a plea during his resignation as an EFF member to avoid mischaracterization of a revolutionary decision and act....

Abathembu King, Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo has ordered schools that were forced to close down due to incidents of extortions in Mthatha, in the Eastern Cape and surroundings to be re-opened. This follows various reports of businesses resorting to closing shop in order to avoid a monthly protection fee that is demanded by local gang rings. In addition, four schools from Mthatha have also become the latest victims of intimidation in this manner. Kind Dalindyebo has since strongly condemned these incidents and called on law enforcement agencies to tigthen the grip on criminals. Spokesperson for King Dalindyebo, Princess Ntando Dalindyebo now joins us on the line for further details...
