Abathembu King, Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo has ordered schools that were forced to close down due to incidents of extortions in Mthatha, in the Eastern Cape and surroundings to be re-opened. This follows various reports of businesses resorting to closing shop in order to avoid a monthly protection fee that is demanded by local gang rings. In addition, four schools from Mthatha have also become the latest victims of intimidation in this manner. Kind Dalindyebo has since strongly condemned these incidents and called on law enforcement agencies to tigthen the grip on criminals.
